Island Overseas Transport Corporation (IOTC)

Is a Philippine-registered company, engages in ship manning business and seafarer deployment. With its headquarters located in EDSA-Mandaluyong City, IOTC provides hundreds of seafarers with sustainable employment.

As such, it has positioned itself as a notable industry stakeholder and a key contributor to the Philippine economy since the establishment of the organization since 1987.

For 37 years, IOTC has established its corporate name within the NYK Group by providing competent Filipino officers and crew through its subsidiary Hachiuma Steamship Co., Ltd. Presently, it has fifty (50) total-manned vessels with full Filipino complement

IOTC is a member of the Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council Inc.(PJMCC), which comprises sixty-eight (68) manning agents with ships owned and controlled by Japanese companies who share the common goal of advancing the quality of Filipino seafarers.

IOTC is also part of the oldest and biggest manning association in the Philippines, the FAME (Filipino Association for Mariners' Employment, Inc.) in which IOTC Chairman Capt. Emmanuel L. Regio was a former president. Currently, Capt. Regio serves as one of the members of Board of Trustees of OWWA or the Overseas Worker Welfare Administration.

MASTER

  • At least 40 years old
  • Holder of COC as Master Mariner issued by PRC
  • Holder of certificate for minimum standards of training for Management Level Officers under the STCW '95 regulations and of related statutory certificates
Training:
  • Onboard - Must have sufficient administrative training in handling ship's accounts, reporting systems and shipboard operations.
  • On shore - Must have undergone training and seminars on "Leadership Courses"
  • Good knowledge of various types of charter parties
  • Good knowledge on various ship's trading certificates related to vessel's flag and clasification
  • Must have served as Shipmaster for at least three years, one yeaer of which shall be on vessels of the same type and size where the candidate is being considered for command. Proficient in oral and written English communication

Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice is hereby adopted in compliance with Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR), and other relevant policies, including issuances of the National Privacy Commission.

It is the policy of Island Overseas Transport Corporation (IOTC) to respect and uphold data privacy rights, and to ensure that all personal data collected from crew/seafarers, allottees, employees and other third parties, are processed pursuant to the general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality as stated in DPA.


  1. IOTC adheres to the general principles of transparency, legitimate purpose and proportionality in the collection, processing, securing, retention and disposal of personal information.
  2. The crew, allottees, employees, or third parties whose personal information is being collected shall be considered as data subjects for purposes of these policies.
  3. Data subjects shall be informed the reason or purpose of collecting and processing of personal data.
  4. The data subjects shall have the right to correct the information especially in cases of erroneous or outdated data, and to object to collection of personal information within the bounds allowed by privacy laws.
  5. The data subject has the right to file a complaint in case of breach or unauthorized access of his personal information.
  6. IOTC shall secure the personal information of crew, allottees, employees and third parties from whom personal information is collected and shall take adequate measures to secure both physical and digital/electronic copies of the information.
  7. IOTC shall ensure that personal information is collected and processed only by authorized personnel for legitimate purposes of the organization.
  8. Any information that is declared obsolete based on the internal privacy and retention procedures of the organization shall be disposed of in a secure and legal manner.
  9. Any suspected or actual breach of the IOTC Data privacy policy must be reported to any member of the Data Privacy Response Team in accordance with the procedure provided in this Manual.
  10. Data subjects may inquire or request for information from the Data Privacy Response Team, regarding any matter relating to the processing of their personal data under the custody of IOTC, including the data privacy and security policies implemented to ensure the protection of their personal data.
